FAYETTEVILLE — The revenge of the arms was the theme of Saturday’s penultimate preseason baseball scrimmage for the Arkansas baseball team.
Four of the six pitchers used by the Razorbacks combined to work 5 2/3 scoreless innings and the Black squad edged the Cardinal 3-1 in six innings on a sunny day at Baum-Walker Stadium.
The low-scoring affair, in which lefty Hunter Dietz matched up with right-hander Tate McGuire as the starting pitchers, stood in contrast to Friday’s 7-5 game that featured six home runs with the wind blowing out. On Saturday, the temperature reached the low 60s but the breeze was blowing in.
