Clemson Registers Back-to-Back Shutouts to Sweep Doubleheader

CLEMSON — Justin LeGuernic tied a career-high with six strikeouts to help lead No. 19 Clemson to a 4-0 win over Army on Saturday at Doug Kingsmore Stadium. The win secured a three-game sweep for the Tigers.

LeGuernic came on in relief to start the third, striking out six while allowing just three hits in holding the Black Knights scoreless over five innings of work. He picked up his first win of the season.

Dion Brown came on and pitched one scoreless inning of relief, while freshman Danny Nelson pitched a perfect ninth.

Luke Gaffney and Nate Savoie led the way for the Tigers (3-0) offensively.
