Edwin Diaz commented on Mets owner Steve Cohen’s comments calling his signing with the Los Angeles Dodgers “perplexing.”
Diaz had been with the Mets since 2019, and turned into one of the best relievers in MLB in their organization. In free agency this offseason, he opted to sign a three-year, $69 million with the Dodgers rather than accepting the Mets’ offer of three-years, $66 million.
“I did find that one perplexing. (I’m) not sure exactly how Edwin arrived at that decision,” Cohen said. “Obviously it’s a personal decision on his part, and I thought we made a pretty respectable bid.
