Ex-Knick Charles Oakley, who had insisted he was taking his misdemeanor assault case to trial, buckled Friday in Manhattan court and accepted a deal that includes a one-year ban from Madison Square Garden.

Oakley agreed to an adjournment in contemplation of dismissal for the televised scuffle with two Madison Square Garden security guards at a basketball game in February.

If he stays out of trouble for six months, the charges will be dismissed and sealed. He didn’t have to admit guilt, and must also steer clear of MSG per a civil trespass affidavit.
