The Leafs earned an all-important two points, outlasting the Philadelphia Flyers 4-2 on Thursday night for their second win in a row.
Goaltender Frederik Andersen had a sensational 36-save effort in the victory. A key moment in the game occurred in the second period when the Leafs were caught on an odd-man rush. Andersen made consecutive, point-blank saves on Flyers attackers Brayden Schenn and Michael Del Zotto.
Then, Tyler Bozak led the ensuing rush the other way and – after stickhandling the length of the ice – fired the puck past Philadelphia goalie Michal Neuvirth, making the score 2-0 at the time.
