Brendan Shanahan, President and Alternate Governor of the Toronto Maple Leafs, announced today that Kyle Dubas has been named the 17th General Manager in the Club’s history. Dubas first joined the Leafs after being named Assistant General Manager on July 22, 2014.
In his role as Assistant General Manager, Dubas held multiple responsibilities including player personnel, managing the club’s player development department and farm system, managing the organizations Research & Development department, and overseeing the organization’s top prospects as General Manager of the Maple Leafs’ AHL affiliate, the Toronto Marlies. This past season, the Marlies were awarded the Macgregor Kilpatrick Trophy as AHL regular season champions with their 54-18-2-2 record (112 points).
