Morgan Rielly’s goal at 2:13 of overtime lifted the Leafs to a 3-2 win over the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday night. It was the first overtime goal of Rielly’s career, extending Toronto’s winning streak to three games.
“With this overtime, you try to hang on to it as long as you can,” Rielly said to reporters after the game. “You don’t want to turn it over if you don’t have to. It’s just a matter of holding on to it and trying to find a teammate or a lane to shoot it. I got lucky and it happened to go in.
